Lesson 3
9. What if..?
Suppose you had the Worlds Greatest Test and
money to pay for it. Suppose that I magically invented the world's
greatest test for perioperative cardiac morbidity as well as the
money to pay for that testing. At the present time the U.S. does
600,000 cardiac cases a year. If you add another 2,000,000 (2
million) cases you are going to need more cardiac surgeons, cardiac
anesthesiologists, and operating rooms. But more importantly,
can it reduce the risk?
