Off-Pump CABG

What
about off-pump CABG? Off-pump CABG is new, and improved, it must
offer a survival advantage that would make risk stratification
worthwhile. In a study of patients referred for angioplasty (n=280)
who were randomly assigned to stenting (n=138) or off-pump bypass
surgery. There was no advantage of off-pump CABG compared to PCI.
Stenting was more cost-effective than off-pump surgery while maintaining
comparable cardiac outcome and quality of life. But there was
no advantage to off-pump compared to PCI. Eefting et. al. Circulation.
